Remodeling A Small Bathroom? 2 Tips To Create A Bathroom That Looks Larger

If you have a small bathroom and are remodeling it, now is a time to make changes that will make your bathroom appear larger. Fortunately, there are many ways you can do this, two of which are listed below. You can then start with this project so you and your family can enjoy your newly remodeled bathroom.

Walk In Shower

If you currently have a bathtub and shower combination, you should consider removing the bathtub and installing only a shower. This will save you a lot of floor space. A walk in shower also looks elegant in a bathroom.

One thing to consider with this type of shower is the shower enclosure. For a smaller shower you should consider a shower enclosure that has sliding doors or bi-fold doors that open inwards.

If you choose a sliding door, you will find they come in a range of prices. No matter the price, however, make sure the sliding door you choose is sealed along the full length of the glass panel. This will ensure the shower enclosure is watertight when you slide the door back.

Bi-fold glass shower doors open outward. This works great if you do not have a wide space for the shower enclosure, such as if you are putting the shower in the corner of the bathroom. These doors do have smaller hinges when compared to other shower enclosures. Because of this, you will often find sliding doors that have pivot doors.

You also have to consider the shape of your shower enclosure. You will find rectangular enclosure shape is most commonly used. This is because this type allows you to have more space in the shower, and you also have more doors styles options to choose from. You will also find square shower enclosures, which work best for corner showers.

Wall Mounted Vanity

A wall mounted vanity is installed higher off the floor to give you more space under the vanity to store things.  You could choose baskets or open shelving units placed under the vanity. You could store things like linens, towels, and toiletries in the baskets or shelving. You can choose to install the wall mounted vanity at any height, which can make it easy to accommodate children or someone in a wheelchair.

Wall mounted vanities come in a variety of widths so you can find one that will easily fit the wall width in your small bathroom. You will also find that cleaning is much easier in a wall mounted vanity as you can easily sweep and mop underneath it.

When installing a wall mounted vanity there are special brackets that are installed within the wall. This way the bracket does not show from the outside.
